Shipping policy

This shipping policy describes how we ship orders placed through the JOBY online store. For product returns, please see our Return & Refund Policy. For warranty claims/product issues, please see our Warranty Policy.

1. Shipping Costs

We offer free standard shipping to the following regions when your order meets the minimum purchase amount (excluding taxes). If your order does not meet the minimum threshold, a flat rate or calculated shipping fee will apply at checkout:

*Includes Alaska, American Samoa, Micronesia, Guam, Hawaii, Marshall Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands. We do not ship to Armed Forces addresses (AA, AE, AP).
**EU Countries include: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Luxembourg, Sweden, and Bulgaria.

Customs Duties & Import Fees: Our free and paid shipping options do not include customs duties or import taxes, which may be charged at the time of delivery for orders shipping outside the US. See Section 3. International Customs, Duties & Taxes for more information.

2. Shipping Destinations & Restrictions

To ensure fast delivery, orders are fulfilled and dispatched from our global warehouse network based on your destination country:

  • US Warehouse (Carrier: UPS): Ships to the USA only. This includes all 50 states, US Territories, and Freely Associated States (including PR, VI, GU, AS, MP, and COFA nations). We do not ship to Armed Forces addresses (AA, AE, or AP).
  • Czech Warehouse (Carrier: DHL): Ships to EU countries (Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Luxembourg, Sweden, and Bulgaria).
  • China Warehouse (Carrier: YunExpress): Ships to Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, and Switzerland.

Restrictions/Excluded Addresses:

  • P.O. Boxes: We are unable to ship to P.O. Box addresses in the USA or Canada. Our carriers require a residential or commercial street address. If you need a secure pickup, please use the "Hold at Location" options provided by the carrier once you receive your tracking number.
  • Forwarding Services: To ensure security and prevent fraud, JOBY reserves the right to cancel and refund orders shipping to known package consolidation or forwarding services.

3. International Customs, Duties & Taxes

For all orders shipping outside the United States, please be advised that our free and paid shipping options only cover the cost of transportation from our warehouse to your delivery address.

  • Additional Fees: You may be responsible for import fees, such as Value Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), or customs duties. These are charged by the shipping carrier (UPS, DHL, YunExpress, etc.) or your local customs office after the shipment reaches your country. The price you see at checkout does not include these potential fees.
  • Predicting Costs: JOBY has no control over these government-mandated fees and cannot predict the exact amount you will be charged. Import fees vary significantly by country and product type.
  • Customer Responsibility: It is the customer's responsibility to check with their local government for a breakdown of duty costs before placing an order. Please see Section 2. Shipping Destinations & Restrictions to find where your order will ship from, which will help you determine any potential import costs. Refusal to pay customs fees will result in the package being returned to us, and any return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund.

4. Processing & Delivery Times

  • Standard Processing: Most orders ship within 1-3 business days. Please note that during peak periods (such as holidays, major sales events, etc.) processing may take longer.
  • Pre-Orders: Shipping timelines for pre-order items are listed on the specific product page at the time of purchase.
  • Out of Stock: If an item is out of stock or requires extended handling time (3-5+ working days), a notice will be displayed on the product page prior to checkout.
  • Estimated Transit: Shipping/transit times typically take 2-7 days depending on the destination region. Estimated delivery windows are displayed at checkout. Note that carriers typically do not deliver on Saturdays or Sundays; these days are excluded from estimated delivery windows.

5. Order Changes & Failed Deliveries

  • Order Cancellations: We allow for self-service order cancellations within 1 hour after placing your order. To do so, go to your JOBY Account Page and open the order you want to cancel. Then just click the order cancel button. If it's been over 1 hour since the order was placed, please contact us as soon as possible to request a cancellation.
  • Modifications: If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us immediately. We will attempt to accommodate requests prior to shipping confirmation, though some changes may cause delays. We cannot modify special orders or orders that have already shipped.
    • Order already shipped? Please visit the carrier's tracking page to see what options are available (hold at a pickup location, change delivery address, etc). For returns, see our Return Policy for information on how to request a return once you've received your order.
  • Failed Delivery: If a carrier returns a package to us due to an incorrect address, unpaid customs duties, or failure to claim the package, we will reship it once it arrives back at our warehouse. The customer is responsible for all reshipping costs.

6. Lost or Damaged Shipments

  • Damaged on Arrival: If your package arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days of delivery. You must provide photos of the external packaging and the damaged products.
  • Lost Packages: If tracking is stalled for 5+ days or shows "Delivered" but you haven't received it, contact us within 7 days of the expected delivery date. Claims made after this window cannot be accepted.
  • Free Gifts: Any items received for free or as promotional gifts are not covered under warranty and will not be replaced if lost or stolen.
