Action Jib Kit & Pole Pack is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value for what you can do with video I got the Joby Action Jib for a GoPro, but while waiting for the GoPro to arrive, I took it out with the Panasonic Lumix LX100. With ND filter the LX100 weight was about 400 grams. I also used a Benro monopod which held up well. felt balanced, and no flex. The Action Jib does a great job for Jib shots with the LX100. It's super easy to set up: takes less than 2min. once you get familiar with the setup. It's light weight, easy to hang the bag on a backpack and take anywhere. The bag is durable. This is a light weight plastic system, and should be handled with care. It doesn't require a great amount of torque to tighten down the handle and platform. For the current prices, they are a great option over a camera slider, hand held stabilizers, or selfie stick. And a great way to get unique perspectives with video and photo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Practical and Affordable Gave this to my husband as an early Xmas gift to compliment his GoPro. I didn't know much about camera/video accessories until I looked up the best GoPro gadgets for 2015 and stumbled upon the Joby Action Jib. Impressed with ease of use, assembly, and agility. Great and affordable accessory to have.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2 positions Its a decent step forward from a selfie stick. Its good enough for most small cameras. It sees some flex on the arm if I use an iPhone. But it is alright. The strings to tilt adjust the camera is also not rigid enough but it gives the flexibility of adjusting the length of the arm in two lengths. the box also includes two lengths of sting and a bungee cord to tension the string. Overall it is not bad

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Design The JOBY Action Jib Kit is a great product for a very specific task. It's a bit on the expensive side for what it is, but at the same time there's basically no cheaper way to have a camera on a jib. That being said, make sure you actually need this kind of equipment. You have to be almost on top of the action to get good angles with this short of a jib. I got this for, among other things, filming NCAA Division III college sports. It works okay with volleyball when you're 10 to 15 feet away from the action, but it would be far better if I were five feet away. Not at all a critique of the equipment, just be sure you actually need this before you buy. The components all seem well-built. There's a lot of plastic in the construction, but it feels durable. The tilt head operates smoothly, and with a small amount of practice practice you can control it very well. The entire thing is straightforward - it just works. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs entry-level video equipment or often uses action cameras to film fast-paced activities where you can be right on top of the action.

Q & A

How does the pole attach to a tripod and does the top end of the mount extend past the point show? I feel like a wide view on GoPro would show the end of the pole in shot.

Asked by: bigredrobot
Hi BigRedRobot, The Jib Kit is HandHeld and does not attach to a tripod like larger Jib cranes, although technically we have done this with some creative use of 1/4"- 20 attachments and ball joints. As far as the wide shot question. Short answer is no worries... Long answer: The components of tne Jib Kit can be mounted right at any point on the pole or monopod right up to the very end so it doesn't stick out. You can mount the pulleys and cable either left or right side and there is a bit of adjustment on the mounting plate, this combined with the adjustment at the pin joint lets you setup so you have a clear shot.

Can I use this with Sony A6300 camera? Is the rig too heavy with this camera? How small does this fold to for traveling?

Asked by: turbodave
The pole will folds to about 22 inches. The Sony A6300 with battery and lenses is over 500 grams. We don't recommend anything heavier than 325 grams.

As I've found this kit very useful while shooting rock climbers, I would like to know if there's an option to buy additional poles to extend the "arm"?

Asked by: SnakeArtworX
You can purchase the Action Grip & Pole for 1 extra pole.
