The Company behind the Gorillapod™ to open a 10-day curated pop-up retail store and collaborative gallery in San Francisco this October
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – September 21, 2009 – Joby, the world-renowned designer of the Gorillapod™ line of flexible camera tripods, together with design-world-denizen CITIZEN:Citizen, is pleased to announce Joby Inspired, a retail store and collaborative gallery to run for a limited engagement in the Hayes Valley district of San Francisco this October 1-11.
Joby inspires creativity through its intelligently-designed consumer products. Joby Gorillapods have inspired the creative minds of the photographic world since 2006 by expanding what is possible with cameras, mobile devices, and video cameras. Large communities of ardent Joby fans have grown organically on YouTube, Flickr, Twitter and elsewhere and continue to push the functional boundaries of the Gorillapod.￼ ￼ ￼

“The countless unanticipated uses our consumers find for our products comprise one of the most exciting and enriching aspects of our company,” says Joby CEO, Forrest Baringer-Jones. “In order to provide a showcase for this phenomenon, we have partnered with CITIZEN:Citizen, one of the design world’s leading creative forces, on the concept and instigation of Joby Inspired.”
In addition to the collaborative gallery, the Joby Inspired space on Hayes Street will house a pop-up retail store, curated by Joby and CITIZEN:Citizen. Joby Inspired:Store will feature a selection of products from all three Joby product lines – Gorillapod, Gorillamobile, and Gorillatorch – as well as a selection of products from beloved brand partners including Vespa, Acme Made, Lensbaby, and Lomography. Joby Inspired:Store will live in a 3,000 square foot retail environment designed by CITIZEN:Citizen.
