UltraFit Hand Strap with UltraPlate is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! This is on my new Nikon D-810. Works with or without the MB-D12 multi-power Battery pack. Makes me feel much more secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for me When the guy at the camera store suggested this product I was a little skeptical due its price. I thought it was a little high for "just" a hand grip. When I got home and installed it on my Nikon D750 I loved it from the first time it picked up the camera. I shoot a lot of sports, mostly cycling races and I carry two bodies and this hand strap allows me to have a secure purchase on my primary body and quickly switch to my second body when needed. As already stated, I love this product for the type to photography I do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I own this product. It's nearly perfect. I give it 4 and 15/16th stars. It's nearly perfect. If you own a DSLR, then it's perfect. If you have a canon sx60 like me, it covers the battery cover door in every configuration. This means I need a Allen wrench each time I go out and need to change the battery. What would make it perfect for everyone would be a screw with a quarter slot or a screw with a flip up handle to make taking off the plate super easy. Think about it Joby!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could not ask for anything better Since adding the Ultrafit Hand Strap and the Ultra Plate, handling my camera has never been easier.  I used it shooting a wedding and on Model Photo Shoots and this is a God send.  Then add the Pro strap and you can't beat it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ingenius hand strap by JOBY I bought this hand strap recently and I really like it.  It's made really well, as I have come to expect with JOBY products (I own several other products from JOBY).  This one is no exception.  The Arca-Swiss compatible plate is great.  The UltraFit Hand Strap material is also very comfortable and doesn't scratch the hands when using it for a long time throughout the day holding my DSLR (D800) camera. I do not have hesitation to recommend this product to my friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Wrist Strap I got this wrist strap recently and have LOVED it. I tend to do a lot of nature photography; which means hiking, climbing rocks, walking in tidal pools, and all around being not so careful with my DSLR. (Let's just say it's saved my camera more than a few times) Luckily I found this strap which is adjustable enough to fit my small hands comfortably and not impede my ability to control my camera.  It feels secure, and the ultra plate is sweet. I can throw it on my tripod quickly - which is important!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One major problem As have some other users reported here, I had the strap come loose from the buckle. Fortunately, when the top connection of the handstrap to the camera eyelet completely unthreated while I was holding it, I had a firm grip on the camera. Otherwise, the camera would have fallen and likely been severely damaged. I contacted Joby, and was sent a picture as to how to backthread the strap to prevent this from happening again. This seems to have worked, because it has not loosened at all since I did this. I still check each time I pick up the camera that the end of the strap has not moved in relation to the buckle. Other than this problem (which seems to have been corrected) the product works great and allows a level of security that one needs with such expensive equipment.

Q & A

I am keen to buy but am concerned by the review mentioning he almost lost his camera twice because the webbing slipped through the  buckle. I'd rely on it to secure it to my hand. Can you reassure me?

Asked by: ChrisSeton
I'm the person who posted the original comment. I've since nearly dropped my camera twice because the strap slipped. In the end, I wound up super gluing the bottom strap to make sure it's stays in place. I thought perhaps it's because I have a big hand, but recently my girlfriend (who has tiny hands) also had the bottom strap slip out while she was holding the camera. In this case it was a 5D Mark III with the 24-70 L II mounted. Pretty scary.

I have the Ultrafit Sling attached to my camera already. Will the UltraPlate work with the Sling attached?

Asked by: Brian K
The UltraFit Sling Strap and the UltraPlate were designed to work together seemlessly. Simply attach the UltraPlate to your camera body using the 1/4"-20 mount and you'll find two additional 1/4"-20 attacment points. You can then attach your UltraFit Sling strap via one of the extra mounts.

Hello there, I am left-handed, ferociously so, and I am looking for a left (camera side) handstrap. Would the ULTRA FIT do the job? Thanks

Asked by: greywoody
Unfortunately no the UltraFit Hand Strap is designed for the majority of camera's which are right grip specific.

I am interested in buying an UltraFit Hand Strap, and I currently own a Nikon D800 with a RRS L-bracket and UltraFit Sling Strap. Will the hand strap fit my L-bracket and sling at the same time? Will all 3 fit on a ball head at the same time?

Asked by: JJ007
Yes looking at the RRS L-bracket, it should work just fine.

i just got the wrist strap, BUT i does lock my battery/memory-card door. my camera is a panasonic FZ 200. i there anything i can change to make it fit AND have acess to my memory card and battery without screwing? best regards

Asked by: micinmuc
The plate is likewise too long for my Canon SX50 (compact megazoom, not a DSLR) - (barely) can't open the battery/card door with it on, which is a definite hassle.  Would be great if JOBY offered a smaller size plate or different configuration for smaller scale cameras.  Otherwise, the hand strap + swing strap + tether are working great so far.  (Just got them recently.)  The directions could be greatly improved, with more detail -- I just tried attaching the straps a few different ways until I found what works best for me (so that when swung down at the hip, the hand strap sits upward for easy access, and the nose of the camera points down/back not outward).

Does the Ultra Fit hand strap have enough adjustable length and weight support to fit cams with a vertical battery grip and larger cams like the Nikon D4 or Canon 1DX?

Asked by: brphoto
Yes the UltraFit Hand Strap with Ultraplate does have enough adjustability to work on most full size DSLR's battery grip. We tested it on a Canon 5D mkII with additional battery grip and it fit fine.
